Project Location

Camp Navajo

Camp Navajo occupies 28,347 acres near Bellemont, AZ, approximately 12 miles west of Flagstaff. Camp Navajo is operated by the Arizona National Guard as a training site and munitions storage depot.

The proposed Ground Based Strategic Deterrent project would use existing storage facilities at Camp Navajo for rocket boosters and motors.

  • Proposed booster and motor storage would be in complete alignment with the current Camp Navajo mission and would fit within the existing operational and maintenance envelope of the installation.

  • No additional facilities or personnel would be required, no construction or renovation would occur at the installation, and no substantive changes would be made in the storage activities authorized under the existing mission.

  • Based on these facts, storage of boosters and motors at Camp Navajo will not be a subject of detailed evaluation in the Environmental Impact Statement.
